[Chemical name] L-Proline, N-[(1S) -1-(ethoxycarbonyl) -3-phenylpropyl]-L-alanyl-, (2Z) -2-butenedioate (1:1)

White crystal. It is soluble in water and slightly soluble in acetonitrile. PKa = 93, mp143 ~ 144.5 C. [alpha] D25 - 42.2 degrees (C = 1.0, CH3OH)

[Use] Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. It is used to treat hypertension and refractory severe congestive heart failure.
